Nextdoor’s #KINDchallenge

I teamed up with Alma to discuss loneliness, the power of connection and the challenges of making new introductions.

Introducing yourself takes confidence and requires taking a calculated risk. There are a lot of emotions that may be triggered during this interaction including thoughts about how others may perceive you and most importantly how you view yourself.

If you have a good self-esteem, you may find that introducing yourself comes more naturally to you.

If you struggle with assertiveness, confidence or self-esteem, introducing yourself may become anxiety-provoking.

Ultimately, forming new connections has many benefits and is something worth working towards being able get more comfortable doing.
