Mind, Movement, & Motherhood: Why Every Mom Deserves a Recess Break
As moms, we spend much of our day tending to the needs of others—nurturing, organizing, balancing, and often putting ourselves last. In the process, it’s easy to lose that essential connection with ourselves—especially the link between mind and body. When this connection weakens, it can have real psychological effects, leaving us feeling stressed, emotionally drained, and out of touch with our own needs. This disconnection can make it harder to manage our emotions and recognize what we need to feel balanced. By fueling this mind-body connection, we can feel more grounded, present, and in tune with ourselves, which is essential for both emotional and physical well-being.
“We all know that pregnancy and postpartum changes our bodies, but something I have been surprised to hear from clients again and again is how differently they feel moving within those bodies. Many share a sense of disconnection- not feeling like themselves, struggling to move the way they used to,” notes Jacqueline Fidelman, a PSI trained psychotherapist working with many clients as they navigate the transition into motherhood. “This event is about rediscovering that connection and learning to embrace movement in a way that feels authentic.”
“When we take time to enhance our connection with ourselves, we broaden our capacity to connect with others. Engaging in self-reflection and investment gives us energy to play the many roles that are required to keep moving in a positive direction. Even one conversation or a few moments of movement and reflection can impact our ability to feel good about ourselves and how we show up in our relationships” adds Jennifer Mann, founder and psychotherapist at Jennifer Mann Therapy.
At our upcoming event, “Mind, Movement, & Motherhood” at Recess Performance Club, we’re celebrating the power of the mind-body connection and the incredible benefits of taking a “recess break” in your day.
This event is all about creating space for moms to reconnect with their bodies, embrace movement, and experience a much-needed “recess break”. Whether you’re a new mom or a seasoned one, this event is designed to help you find balance and reclaim that essential mind-body connection.
“Movement is a powerful tool for mothers. It elevates mood, reduces stress, and fosters a sense of accomplishment — everything a mom needs to show up as her best self in all her roles.” says Eric, a celebrity trainer and founder of Recess Performance Club.
